Early Detection Through Deception
by: Jason Nester
We will discuss how deception techniques can be used to trick an attacker into announcing their presence on an enterprise network.  How deception can be used to delay, confuse, and just plain irritate an adversary.  Using deception to keep bots and script kiddies on the Internet occupied while hiding your real assets. Come join a conversation about trolling attackers and making security through obscurity a valid defense mechanism.
Jason Nester has been working in the IT industry since 1998 with experience in manufacturing, government contracting, and retail.  He got the security bug while building classified networks for Department of Defense and Department of Homeland Security contractors.  He is passionate about enterprise defense and finding creative methods to defend organizations.

by: David Casey

DUO Security provides cloud-based multi-factor authentication. Free for up to ten accounts for personal/home use, and paid options for businesses. In this presentation we will list some of the supported services, share some of my experiences, and go through a demonstration of using DUO to enable multi-factor authentication on Windows & Linux (maybe RADIUS too).

David’s Bio: David is an Information Security enthusiast and Information Technology professional with over 10 years of experience. He is Microsoft and VMWare certified for Windows Server and data center virtualization. Current day-to-day is tier2 end user support for a managed services provider. The Existential Structure of the Internet: A Discussion Between Opposing Visions
by: Tom

The contemporary discourse around the internet is one which is defined by opposing visions and paradoxical complexities.  On the one hand the internet is an unparalleled innovation which has had societal effects similar to and greater than the printing press. On the other hand the internet has also been utilized for warfare, espionage and the mining of personal data.  During this presentation we will discuss the origins of these visions, one utopian and the other distopian, and the ways that these visions have come to shape the contemporary discourse of the internet.
